Ideas...

I am really into music. Some of my favorite artists are Fergie, Beyonce, Ludacris, Nas, Chris Brown, Danity Kane...I could go on and on... It would be cool to make a publication about the music I like. Maybe like popular hip-hop or top 40. Maybe like an editorial type of thing or just about the individual artists, their history, and why they do what they do. It could be cool with like a website or CD to go with it so you could listen to their music too.

I watch way too much MTV. My favorite shows are Dancelife, Rob and Big (are they gonna do another season?), Laguna Beach, The Hills, I was hooked on Making the Band, Run's House was funny, and that I Love New York show on VH1 is so hilarious. I also watch Heroes religiously every Monday night on NBC. That show rocks. I would have fun making a publication about any one of these shows or all of them in one. It would be cool to have interviews with all the actors/people.

I love movies. I have worked at Suncoast in the past for over a year and I work at Blockbuster now. A movie publication would be cool. Not just about one type of movie genre but many, and info about actors/actresses, new movies coming out, etc.

If I got a little more personal about it I could do something about my family. My family rocks and they have really been there for me through some lame $#@* over the past year. I really appreciate them more that ever. I could do a little dedication publication, ha ha. I dunno... I like animals. I've got three dogs, a bunny, 2 hermit crabs from Florida. I LOVE the beach and Florida. I am always up for doing something about Florida.

Can't stop thinking about...

I saw this movie last week and I have not been able to stop thinking about it. It was Blood Diamond. I have never seen a movie like that. It was horrific and graphic. I did not know things like that were actually going on in the world. I am in my own little bubble just doing my everyday routine. Granted this "Blood Diamond" conflict was mainly from 1991 to 2002, but I don't feel like I watch enough of the news, or stay in touch with the current events as much as I should. Yeah, I had to Google it and find out more. Supposedly it's "over" in Sierra Leone but it is still going on in other African countries. It needs to stop and Sierra Leone needs help rebuilding and recovering. It was really horrible seeing in the movie what the families and especially the children had to go through. The movie makes me want to get up off my butt and do something. I feel sort of helpless being so far away from Africa and not really connected in any way, but I think the least bit anyone can do is volunteer for any kind of related cause. Maybe I can create a publication about this...

I have never created or posted comments in a blog! Sounds like fun though. This one is going to be for my Publication Design class at Drake. I am going to post ideas for my assignment of creating my own publication.
